Recent Projects

  • Developed and implemented research protocol to assess Hepatitis B first birth dose immunization practices in 12,000 mother-baby pairs at 118 hospitals through primary data collection to support state and CDC public health initiatives
  • Developed and conducted a gap analysis using primary data collection to assess hospital bioterrorism preparedness against national guidelines for over 500 hospitals in Texas for the Texas Department of State Health Services
  • Developed and conducted focus groups to determine reasons for non-emergent use of emergency department resources for individuals within Central Texas who were at or below 200% of the federal poverty level for the Travis County Health Care District
  • Conducted applied public health research to assess the impact of community health workers in guiding low income insured persons to the right care at the right place at the right time
